N-DRIP

Agtech

Innovative irrigation technology

A management tool for irrigation and fertilization that enables optimal plant growth for crops, vegetables, orchards and greenhouses.

Problem

For about 85% of the world’s agricultural fields, a system of irrigation is used where water is piped or ditched into the field and then simply flows over the soil through the plants. This is a waste of water, with about 50% lost to evaporation or seepage, and results in inefficient yields and wasted fertilizer.

Solution

N-Drip has developed a unique dripper that is highly resistant to dirty water, requires no external energy and is 100% recyclable. The system saves up to 70% water and increases yield by up to 30%.

Market size

TAM –  $22 million

Business model

Designed to create a customized, optimal gravity micro irrigation plan, the software helps growers turn flooding into precise irrigation.

N-Drip examines field data, topography, soil type and crop type, water quality, planting density and cropping method to create the most efficient plan. The system guides maximizing yield, including when and how often to irrigate, fertilize, chlorinate and oxidize. The farmer observes and enjoys maximized yield potential and a decrease in expenses.

Using a unique model of imaging that performs real-time analysis, the software continuously monitors available water as well as nitrogen in the soil and calculates the balance to provide accurate and reliable irrigation and fertilization recommendations.

Competitive advantages

  • Maximum reliability: The system directly measures the water potential of the soil as well as the roots based on samples taken at specific intervals throughout the field, providing reliable data and an accurate representation of the field’s condition.
  • Absolute accuracy: With no calibration required, N-Drip provides irrigation and fertilization recommendations tailored to a wide range of crops and soil types – a significant advantage for open fields and field crops.
  • Supported by experts: The simulation and forecasting model was developed and is maintained by a team of experts with decades of academic and agricultural experience.
  • Comprehensive service: N-Drip takes full responsibility for the installation and operation of the system.
